What's New?
This summer we're gradually updating this website with new content and photos.
If you wish to contribute, please
email us.
Soaking wet sports stories are particularly welcome.
Meanwhile, enjoy this year's photos from the
Songkran Festival and the
Lake near Chiang Mai in Thailand.
The Events are now in the Travel section.
Wet and wild sports like canoeing, surfing, mud running, coasteering or rockhopping have become more popular lately.
New fun sports are appearing and growing into trendsports,
like Phatdipping,
which means swimming in several layers of clothes, the opposite of Skinny Dipping.
The extreme sport variety of this is
Underwater Swimming,
also fully clothed,
which requires much skill and fitness.
We are often asked how to learn swimming fully clothed.
Most water sports require swimming in clothes as an essential skill,
because a good soaking is often part of their appeal.
Wet clothes are just part of the game.
Be it sailing, canoeing, kite surfing or adventure racing, you wouldn't do it just in swimming briefs.
Clothes in the water are the aquatic equivalent to weight lifting.
The extra weight of wet clothes provides a great resistance exercise.
Now you can build up extra stamina and endurance to enhance your health.
Most water sports by definition get you soaking wet.
We show you what to wear in the water and how to manage your wet clothes.
Also the water sports pages feature occasional fashion tips.
Do you know when to swim in jeans or sailing kit?
Our Mission
Wacky Wet World is an online magazine with information on wet outdoor activities and sports, fashion, lifestyle and our popular photo albums.
By bringing together water sport and outdoor fans this site serves as a hub
for a global community of people who enjoy a more interesting style of swimwear.
Our History
Established in October 1996, Wacky Wet World was created by the web designers of
intereliant.com
as a protest against internet censorship.
Rather than showing adult content, they did the opposite and
published some photos of fully clothed people, but soaking wet.
It turned out to be a huge success with our readers.
Starting with a single page it soon became the market leader of the wetlook fashion scene
serving over 100,000 unique visitors a month.
A large photo album with thousands of images and frequent updates keeps readers entertained to this day.
In the new millennium swimming in clothes became more popular
and wet clothes became fashionable on the beach and at pool parties.
We intend to bring you more sports ideas and wet entertainment over the coming years.
